Passcode OnDemand

The Signify Passcode OnDemand Service allows you to use a mobile phone or e-mail account in order to replace password authentication with something stronger - and in some cases, genuine two-factor authentication.

Passcode OnDemand works by first registering a mobile phone number or e-mail account to you and then when you require it, you request a One-Time Passcode (OTP) when you need to authenticate. As well as your Passcode OnDemand Device, you also must know a Secret PIN. When you request a new OTP you must identify yourself with your Signify Account ID or e-mail address and your secret PIN. Signify then immediately generates a new OTP for you and sends it to your Passcode OnDemand Device.

When you have received your OTP, you can then use it to login. One-Time Passcodes can operate in two modes; Simple PIN Mode and Strong PIN Mode. With Simple PIN Mode you simply use the received OTP in place of a password. Strong PIN Mode requries you to re-enter your secret PIN followed by the OTP. The PIN Mode for your Passcode OnDemand Device is preconfigured by your administrators, you cannot choose which PIN Mode to use when you login.
